Mother’s Day is coming up and I’m determined to do something memorable for my Mum. I don’t have much money to spend but I’m sure something simple will make her smile.

The last time we spent Mother’s Day together, I was about ten so it’s a big deal. Maddie and I are going to make cards and I want to put on a special tea for the three of us. Mum’s not eating much but she might be able to manage a slice of cake or something.

Amber took a really nice picture of us together – all three generations – and I thought I’d get a frame for it and give that as a gift.I can’t wait.

Get clued-up:

Chlamydia is the most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI). It affects both men and women and can lead to more serious problems such as infertility but is easily treated once diagnosed.

You can get tested quickly and easily via the sexual health testing service run by Terrence Higgins Trust in Doncaster. For more information visit
www.tht.org.uk/free, call 01302 730400 or email info.doncaster@trt.org.uk

To protect yourself, use condoms every time you have sex.

Izzy's profile

Name:
Izzy.  Really it’s Isabella but who’s got the time to say that?

Status:
Single

Your life:
I’m single mum to my little girl Madison and studying for my GCSEs.  I couldn’t do that at the same time as my mates because I was pregnant.

Loves:
Nights out in Donny, Indian food, reading (anything from Jane Austen to
Spot the Dog with Maddie), my Ugg boots, having our own room.

Hates:
Laziness, people who judge you without knowing you, most boys!

Worst experience:
Growing up in and out of care.

Best:
The day my daughter was born.

Big ambition:
Going to uni to study English Literature.  Other people with kids have done it.  Why shouldn’t I?

Your take on housemates:
They’re the only family I’ve got now.  But like any family they wind me up a lot!  I’m like ‘hello, not all of us can spend all our time
partying’.
